Analyze LPR Sightings and Generate Vehicle Profiles with TruAssist
Overview of the TRULEO LPR Agent
TruAssist is Truleo’s secure AI assistant for law‑enforcement agencies. It can interact with the agency’s license‑plate recognition (LPR) systems through the TRULEO LPR agent, generate case reports and answer questions. Analysts use TruAssist to:
-
Request vehicle profiles and pattern‑of‑life information. From within the secure chat, analysts can ask the TRULEO LPR agent to build a vehicle profile, identify vehicles travelling together or summarise a pattern of life across LPR systemsarca
-
Receive AI‑researched responses. After a request is submitted, TruAssist acknowledges it and uses the agency’s TRULEO LPR agent to research the query
-
Review analytics. TruAssist assembles a pattern‑of‑life report that highlights hotspots, timing, frequency and other insights about the vehicle’s activity
Steps to Analyze Sightings and Build Vehicle Profiles
1. Submit an LPR Query
-
Open a secure TruAssist conversation and ask the TRULEO LPR agent to generate a vehicle profile. The request should specify the licence‑plate number or describe the desired information (e.g., “Generate a vehicle profile for AZ plate FAKE123”).
-
TruAssist confirms that it will research the query using the agency’s TRULEO LPR agent
2. Review the Pattern‑of‑Life Summary
TruAssist returns aggregated LPR analytics:
-
Probability‑of‑interception table – ranks cameras and times of day most likely to capture the vehicle. The report groups sightings into morning, afternoon and night buckets, showing which cameras and time buckets have the highest counts
-
Vehicle profile – summarizes the vehicle’s attributes and pattern of life, including:
-
Number of LPR hits and date/time range
-
First‑seen and last‑seen timestamps
-
Reported make(s), body style(s) and colour(s)
-
Networks or agencies that captured the vehicle and the most frequent camera locations
-
Hotspots and typical driving patterns
-
3. Work with the Data in Analyst
-
Open or create an Analyst case. Analysts can upload case‑related files and CSV exports from LPR systems. TruAssist automatically adds LPR data found by the agent to the case when requested
-
Select an output template. In the Analyst workspace, choose a report template (e.g., a case summary report) and select the sections—executive summary, case overview, subjects of investigation, attachments, etc.—to include in the output.
-
Generate the report. Click Generate Report. TruAssist compiles the uploaded files and LPR data into a draft report that can be edited, downloaded as a PDF or DOCX, and shared as evidence.
4. Ask Follow‑up Questions
Inside the case, analysts can continue to interact with TruAssist’s AI:
-
Ask contextual questions (e.g., “How many times was the vehicle seen at night?” or “Which networks captured this plate?”) to drill deeper into the LPR data
-
TruAssist’s TRULEO AI agent responds with detailed data from the LPR results summary and adds relevant information to the case.
Tips and Best Practices
-
Use descriptive queries. Provide licence‑plate numbers and specify whether you need a vehicle profile, vehicles travelling together or a pattern‑of‑life analysis. The more context you provide, the more relevant the AI’s response.
-
Leverage generated analytics. Use the probability‑of‑interception table to plan surveillance or patrols and the pattern‑of‑life report to understand a vehicle’s behavior
-
Integrate LPR data into case management. Automatically add LPR data to cases in Analyst for comprehensive case files
-
Iterate with follow‑up questions. Drill into specific aspects of the data by asking follow‑up questions within the case
By following these steps, analysts can efficiently extract insights from LPR systems, build detailed vehicle profiles and generate evidence‑ready case reports using TruAssist.
