Benefits for Patrol Officers
How TruAssist Transforms Every Shift
Overview
Patrol officers spend up to 40% of each shift on administrative tasks: writing incident reports, manually checking systems for pre-shift intelligence, managing body-worn camera compliance, and answering policy questions in the field. Every minute spent on paperwork is a minute away from the community.
TruAssist changes the equation. TRULEO Digital Agents connect to your CAD, RMS, and body-worn camera systems and do the administrative work automatically — so officers can focus on what matters. Benefits include:
• Automated report drafting from body-worn camera audio and CAD data
• Current pre-shift intelligence delivered before every shift
• Instant policy, statute, and records lookups in the field
• Automated body-worn camera ingestion and compliance tracking
Automated Report Writing
Officers spend an average of 30–45 minutes writing narrative reports after every call. TruAssist drafts these reports automatically from body-worn camera audio and CAD data, reducing that time to a quick review and submission.
• Reports drafted automatically from BWC audio and CAD data
• Required fields populated and formatted to agency templates
• Missing information flagged before submission to reduce rejections
• Reports ready to review and submit in minutes — not hours
Impact: Officers reclaim up to 2 hours per shift previously lost to paperwork. End-of-shift report queues become a thing of the past.
Pre-Shift Intelligence Briefings
The Real-Time Agent automatically delivers a current intelligence briefing before every shift — no manual system checks required. Officers arrive with the same accurate operating picture regardless of when they clock in.
• Complete, current intelligence briefing delivered before every shift — automatically
• Live BOLOs, wanted persons, and hotspot information maintained from CAD and RMS
• Updates pushed to officers during the shift as new intelligence emerges
• Every officer, on every shift, starts with the same accurate operating picture
Impact: Static pre-shift briefings become real-time intelligence. Officers arrive informed and stay current throughout the shift, improving situational awareness and response safety.
Real-Time Field Support
TruAssist is available on any device — desktop, tablet, or mobile MDT — and answers natural-language questions instantly. Officers get policy answers, records lookups, and case history without waiting for dispatch or radio traffic.
• Policy, statute, and procedure questions answered instantly via natural language
• RMS, CAD, and warrant systems searched simultaneously with a single query
• Prior contacts, related case history, and active investigations surfaced on demand
• Available 24/7 without wait times, radio traffic, or supervisor interruptions
Impact: Officers get immediate, accurate answers in the field. Encounter decision-making improves and supervisors spend less time fielding routine policy and records calls.
Body-Worn Camera Compliance
The Utility Agent automatically ingests and organizes body-worn camera footage, flags missing activations, and delivers proactive compliance reports to supervisors — eliminating the manual upload process and catching gaps before they become complaints.
• BWC footage automatically ingested and organized upon upload
• Missing activations flagged by cross-referencing CAD event type and agency policy
• Proactive compliance reports delivered to supervisors without manual video review
• End-of-shift manual upload queues eliminated entirely
Impact: BWC compliance improves without added administrative burden. Supervisors identify gaps proactively, and officers have a documented record of every qualifying encounter.
Enabling TruAssist for Your Agency
TruAssist is available on desktop, tablet, and mobile MDT. Individual features — including pre-shift briefings and BWC ingestion — are optional capabilities that can be enabled on a per-agency basis. If a feature is not visible in your interface, contact TRULEO support at support@truleo.co to have it activated on your account.
Tips
• Use natural language: TruAssist understands plain English. You do not need to remember specific commands or system syntax — just describe what you need, as you would to a colleague.
• Be specific in field queries: Including a name, case number, plate, or date in your query returns faster and more precise results than a broad search.
• Verify critical findings: Although TruAssist aggregates data from multiple sources, always cross-check significant leads against official records before taking investigative action.
• Download reports for case files: Each agent delivers a downloadable report. Use the Download option to export results and attach them directly to a case, briefing packet, or department record.
• Report issues early: If a report draft is missing key fields or a briefing looks incomplete, reply in the same chat thread to refine it. The agent will revise its output based on your feedback.
By deploying TruAssist, patrol officers reclaim up to 3–4 hours per shift previously spent on administrative work — time that goes back to community engagement, investigation, and response. One platform, one price, unlimited capability.
