TruAssist V2 (new)

The next-generation TruAssist is now the default /truassist experience (#4699).

  • Conversational TruAssist with streaming responses, persistent history, and per-tab conversations — pick up where you left off after a refresh, or run independent conversations in different browser tabs.
  • Voice mode with push-to-talk, real-time waveform visualization, and adjustable speaking speed; mic toggle and listening/speaking indicators built in.
  • App-wide search across documents, analyst cases/briefings/lists, and field notes (#4868) — TruAssist now explores all of your data in parallel before answering, and offers one-click navigation links to the most relevant items.
  • File uploads directly into a conversation — TruAssist will wait for processing and then search/read the new file.
  • Pin and react to messages with thumbs-up / thumbs-down feedback (with optional written comments). Pinned messages live in a dedicated Pinned sidebar tab and are saved until you delete them.
  • Copy & download buttons on any assistant message, plus a Sources chip that opens cited documents directly in the document preview dialog.
  • Smarter follow-ups — context-aware suggestion buttons, navigation links, and inline forms (text, checkbox, dropdown, and date fields) that pre-populate from the conversation.
  • Charts and data analysis — histograms, multi-line charts, and Mermaid diagrams render inline; chart images are preserved on PDF/DOCX export.
  • Location & weather tools — geocoding, current conditions, hourly forecasts, and traffic, available across all pages.
  • BWC assessment tools (officer/group lookup, structured data analysis) for users with the assessment permission.
  • OSINT, LPR, and RMS results delegate to the agentic systems and are returned to you verbatim.
  • Better thinking/tool feedback — collapsible "Thinking" group with live progress messages (e.g. "Reading documents — 60%", "Generating chart"), elapsed time, and clear error display when a tool fails.
  • Embedded TruAssist in Field Notes and Analyst pages now stays aware of which note/package you're viewing and resets context cleanly when you navigate away.
TruAssist Shortcuts
  • Shortcuts are now gated by your permissions so users only see actions they can actually run (assessment shortcuts require BWC assessment access, virtual-dispatch shortcuts require virtual dispatch) (#4834).
Field Notes
  • More consistent Enhanced Narrative quality — report generation now uses standardized LLM settings to reduce variability between runs (#4886).
  • "Generate Enhanced Narrative" button now shows a spinner while the report is being generated (#4886).
  • Larger document attachments supported when generating reports (#4886).
  • TruAssist now greets you and shows the right checklist immediately when a new field note is created (#4699).
Voice Recording
  • Microphone error dialog restored — if your microphone is unavailable or permission is denied, you'll see a clear error dialog instead of a 0-second recording being created (#4883).
Admin / User Management
  • Optional Division field on user profiles, available in invites, profile editing, bulk CSV upload, and admin logs (#4784).
  • Edit existing API keys in the UI — you can now add or remove capabilities from API keys without database access (#4823).
  • Per-org transcript PII redaction toggle for organizations that need it (#4785).
Legal / Account
  • Terms of Service links added to the settings menu and the signup page (#4860).
Editor
  • Fewer "broken markdown" errors in the report editor — content like <$10,000 or x <= 5 no longer crashes the editor, and clicking Fix Markdown updates the editor and saves immediately (#4875).
