Truleo Product Updates - 07/03/2025

We are excited to bring you the following enhancements for Thursday July 3, 2025

Field Notes with TruAssist

Users can now generate report narratives faster and with more detail using Assistive AI.The Field Notes page now has a TruAssist chat panel on the right. In addition to previous functionality like typing or dictating your recollections, TruAssist can simply ask you questions about the entire incident and draft a response for you.

Interactive Suggestions

TruAssist constantly checks your work and provides suggestions on additional details you may have missed.

Save and Manage Multiple Format Instructions in Field Notes

Users can now save and reuse multiple sets of format instructions in Field Notes—ideal for switching between use cases like DUI and traffic stop narratives. A new dropdown allows selecting from saved formats, and a "Save As" option enables creating named templates. If a format name already exists, users will be prompted to confirm before overwriting.

Analyst: An Investigative Assistant

We’ve implemented report generation logic on the Analyst page, allowing users to create a report based on their uploaded and processed case files, along with any custom instructions provided. The "Generate Report" button becomes active once at least one file has been processed and is accessible across all tabs. When clicked, it sends both the instructions and file references to the backend, where AI generates a report.

The output is saved as the latest version and rendered in markdown format within the Enhanced Editor tab for further editing. If a report already exists, generating a new one will overwrite the previous version, with a confirmation prompt shown beforehand.

Integrate TruAssist with Analyst for File-Based Q&A

TruAssist is now integrated into the Reporting module to help users interpret case files more effectively. A persistent panel on the right side of the Reporting page allows users to ask questions about any uploaded file within a case.

Support Aliasing

We’ve added support for aliasing the term "Officer" to "Trooper" or "Deputy" across the app to better reflect organizational terminology. While "Officer" remains the default, this update allows sheriff’s offices and state departments of public safety to display the appropriate title such as "Deputy" or "Trooper” in all user-facing parts of the application.

Sort Users by Last Name in User Management

We’ve updated the User Management page to support sorting the user list by last name. This enhancement makes it easier for administrators to locate and manage users, especially in larger departments where officers may share the same first names.
